goodies!
it's a good thing i don't obsessively collect things, because stamps would be next on the list. what's that you say? i am delusional and am already a hoarder of whatever tickles my fancy? oh, alright.
my swap from emilykate arrived today (all the way from australia!) and i am so excited... this awesome pattern is one size too small for me, but i am hoping to make some adjustments and have a clone of this:
see mom? i didn't cut it! i love this dress. it was swiped from my parents' magical attic closet which always seemed to produce some new retro item every time i'd come over and get everyone drunk enough to not mind me rummaging through their things. so that i might collect them. ah, this post's tiny circle is complete.
(ps: if you'd like some swap goodies of your own, come join our flickr swap group!)

those stamps are beautiful, I'm not a collector neither, but i love small things, so I have a mini-collection. The rule: not bigger than 1 1/2 inch.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that is one COOL vintage dress, you're lucky to have parents who um, seem to have had taste back in the 70's; my own parents' old boxes of clothes are filled with orange and navy blue polyester slacks and a large number of striped sweater-tunics that seem to be woven from yak hair...
ReplyDeleteWow, that's all really lovely. You know what you could make with those beautiful stamps? Stamp pendants, as described here on Craftster: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=39105.msg354958#msg354958
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried it yet, because I'm afraid of the technique, but I love it!
Wrong blog address! How come I do it all the time now? I wish blogger remembered me...
ReplyDeleteWhat a stuning vintage dress.
ReplyDeleteLove your creations and your great blog
Colette
thanks everyone (and glad to meet you colette)-- my mom has good taste, eh?
ReplyDeleteOh the dress!!! I'm so glad you still have it Oona. Did I tell you that dress was bought for me to wear as a maid of honor dress at a wedding!!! You have to realize this was 1974 and "fashion" was all over the place. So that dress is something of an antique I guess being 34 years old! By the way it looks lovely on you!
ReplyDeleteyeah i love this dress! elliot gould stared at me when i wore it to an LA restaurant :)
ReplyDeleteHa!!! I remember Elliot Gould! BD and me used to see a lot of movies with him in it--probably around the time that dress was made. Maybe he had seen it before Oona???
