Oh, I'm sorry. I'M SORRY. BUT YOU NEED TO STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING RIGHT NOW AND GO SEE THE LATEST FAT QUARTER CHALLENGER. PUT THE CHILD/CAT/COFFEE/DEBRIEFING DOWN AND GO RIGHT NOW.
The challengers are hellbent on proving me wrong. First, Devra's Unicorn playset. Then Amity's Zombified Peplum blouse. Now comes this stripey self-drafted number from mastermind Jennifer of Workroom Social, complete with a Project Runway recap of her work in the challenge. She basically Tim Gunn'ed herself.
I think I need to go lie down.
You ladies are so inspiring!!! FAT QUARTERS? and a cute little number....unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteI hope she makes that her profile photo for everything - it's priceless!
ReplyDeleteWOW that newest number is amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoying this challenge very much, and feeling quite smug that I've been making fun summer skirts from FQs for years. Yes, quilting cotton deserves garment-sewist scorn -- most of the time -- but it does make a superb hot-weather skirt (trust me on this, I live in Hawaii and wear FQ skirts year-round). And with all those different fabrics jumbled together, they're almost Oonalicious. There's a tutorial at venusdehilo.com, for the curious...
ReplyDeleteI think we need a new challenge now — something more forgiving than quilting cottons, which can go hang themselves.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work from everyone - that dress = wowzers!!
ReplyDeleteshe did a great job.
