PALOOZA DAZZLERS!

Hold onto your hats. This one is a doozy.

My math could be totally off, but I do believe there are a whopping 70 MAKES for the sewcialist's oonapalooza month! WHAAAAAAT?!  My brain is in a delighted technicolored fog after spending the morning collaging all these beauties together.  Please accept my apologies, complete with hairshirt, if I missed you, and please do tell me so that I can correct my error!  Without further ado, let me link up these lovelies to their creators so that you can ogle their blogs... in clockwise-ish order for all collages...

Above: the Body 'Paloozers: Cut Cut Sew, House of PinheiroBouquet of Buttons, Meg the Grand (in Steelers pjs!)

Swirly, sexy Skirt 'Paloozers: Lady Sewalot, Jo Sews, Gold PomInge MaaktDinuvole Di Cuori

So stoked to see Shorts!  Will these 'Paloozers convince me to make a pair of my own? Mebbe....Sew Stylist, Sew Stylish, The Tell Tale Tasha, Sew Rachel!, and Gallomane's manly Comox trunks.

and get ready y'all, lemme just link up TWENTY TWO DRESSES...

DFabrication, two stunners from Kathy Sews (1 and 2), Cashmerette

Let's take a kimono break, shall we? HOW I WANT A KIMONO. Mine has been in the works for months (read: uncut fabric, rolled up fringe)... Bobbins and Whimsy, Liza Jane Sews, Sew Stylish

Toppers! And so many BHL Polly tops! Sew Well, Pass/Fail SewingAnother Sewing ScientistLiza Jane Sews

Here we go again y'all, get ready for another steep climp and an exhilarating drop on the 'Palooza 'coaster: Thirteen. Maxi. Dresses.  You KNOW I love a maxi. My fingers are in full cramp mode at this moment, and I do not care.

Finally, some 'Paloozers went and made an entire outfit. OVERACHIEVERS!!

Wow guys.  I'm at a loss for words.  Partly because my brain is on overload, but mostly because wow. Some of you I know in real life, some I know by name as if we were real life friends, some I've just met through this crazy challenge, and ALLA y'all are amazing.  I mean it and I hope you know it!

Thank you Sewcialists, Lady Katza, Gillian, and all you awesome tweeting instigators for thinking up this sewalong.  A winner/prize will be decided shortly (as soon as my brain regains motor function).

Till then, my dazzling superheroine friends.....

  3. Oh HEAVENS what a collection of beautiful prints and beautiful makes and beautiful ladies! Maybe I better take some photos of my own informal Oonapalooza make (it needs a wash and a press after its very sweaty debut).
I gotta say, this event has certainly felt like I was personally given permission to buy prints I was ogling but thought I might be too scared to wear. Preposterous! I will use the many gorgeous prints I ordered and I will channel as much Oonaballoona-esque self-possession as I can muster (but I will probably not mix so many colors and prints all together, ever, because I am a GIANT BABY made of REGULAR-SIZED BABIES themselves composed of VERY TINY BABIES).

    1. hahaha not preposterous in the slightest! we are, after all, the best enablers around. now be careful with all dem babies.

    2. Preposterous, I mean, that I was unsure about buying the prints in the first place, and to feel like I needed some kind of "permission" to do so.
Actually taking the fabric-ordering plunge is not the preposterous part, only my silly little fear of doing it!

    3. i liked imagining you yelling PREPOSTEROUS at a wall of prints, a la charlie brown :))

  13. hahaha...not the first time I've been accused of being an overachiever as it turns out. Sheesh, you've brought up memories of grade school...with me so fearful of being called out in class for unlearnedness that I would over....overstudy, overpractice, overachieve, pretty much over anything. The good news is that sewing my Oona inspired outfit had none of the angst or underlying lack of self confidence. Pure good fun it was!!! What an awesome round up of inspired sewing!!
